Football Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Mustangs vs. Del Sol Dragons

The Shadow Ridge Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Del Sol Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shadow Ridge's defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so Del Sol's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Shadow Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Basic, who was ranked eighth at the time (Shadow Ridge was ranked second). Shadow Ridge came out on top against Basic by a score of 19-6 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Del Sol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silverado.

Shadow Ridge pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.1 points per game. As for Del Sol, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Shadow Ridge's way against Del Sol in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Shadow Ridge made off with a 38-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shadow Ridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
