Softball Recap: St. Monica Mariners vs. Knight Hawks

It's playoff time, and St. Monica had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Knight Hawks on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mariners as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bella Urbina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Sanai Lambert was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Katrina Olmedo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

St. Monica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

St. Monica now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Knight, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

As of now, neither St. Monica nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
