It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Devon Prep had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They took down the Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants 69-50. Winning may never get old, but Devon Prep sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Mike Pergolis went supernova for Devon Prep, scoring 22 points along with five assists. Ayinde McLendon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Several Mighty Elephants players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Milak Myatt, who scored 19 points. Myatt is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for five games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Alantay Dawson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine steals and nine blocks.
Devon Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. As for Math Civics & Sciences, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-11.
