Buena came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Nogales Apaches for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-42 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Colts had established a 26 point advantage.

Jesus Pacheco continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamin Booker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Buena was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nogales only racked up ten assists.

Despite the defeat, Nogales saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gael Martinez went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Tito Fierros, who posted seven points and three steals.

Buena pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Nogales, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buena will face off against Desert View at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Buena is facing Desert View at the right time seeing as Desert View is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Nogales, they will challenge Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
