Basketball Recap: Vega Find Success

While Vega didn't have the best season last year (they finished 16-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sanford-Fritch Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 45-43. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Vega's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Sanford-Fritch, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Vega and Sanford-Fritch should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Vega (ranked 247th) will meet Sunray (ranked 966th) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sanford-Fritch (ranked 398th) will meet Gruver (ranked 808th) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
