Baseball Recap: Perquimans Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Perquimans won the last time they faced Holmes and things went their way on Friday too. The Perquimans Pirates came out on top against the Holmes Aces by a score of 12-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Brady Shepherd was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Coley Drew, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Perquimans always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holmes only posted an OBP of .371.

Perquimans' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Holmes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perquimans will host Pasquotank County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holmes, they will welcome Gates County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
