Softball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Beats North Caddo for Their 25th Straight Win

Calvary Baptist Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 28-2 margin over the North Caddo Titans. Considering the Cavaliers have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaycee Sledge made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last three contests. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baylor Bockhaus, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted over her last 15 games. Carlie Guile was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Calvary Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .767. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Calvary Baptist Academy pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.5 runs. As for North Caddo, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist Academy will take on St. Mary in a tournament on Thursday. As for North Caddo, they and Green Oaks are set to meet in a battle of mythical proportions on Wednesday. North Caddo has given up an average of 13.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
