Somers has no trouble against Windsor Locks

Recap: Somers Spartans vs. Windsor Locks Raiders

The Somers Spartans waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Windsor Locks with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. Somers pushed the score to 58-38 by the end of the third, a deficit Windsor Locks cut but never quite recovered from.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmine Hurdle, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Gough, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Somers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Windsor Locks, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Somers will head out on the road to face off against Coventry at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Coventry is coming into the matchup with five straight defeats at home, meaning Somers will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Windsor Locks, they and Suffield will face off at 6:45 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Suffield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Windsor Locks in Connecticut (Suffield is ranked 31st, while Windsor Locks is ranked 111th).
