Baseball Recap: Northside Takes a Loss

Northside was the 6-0 winner over Clemente when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one run.

Vince Siefring was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Northside and nudges their season record down to 9-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Clemente, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Northside will face off against Northridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clemente, they will take on Chicago Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.91 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
