Softball Recap: Bloomer Blackhawks vs. St. Croix Falls Saints
After flying high against Amery last Monday, Bloomer came back down to earth. The Bloomer Blackhawks fell just short of the St. Croix Falls Saints by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bloomer of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
For St. Croix Falls' part, Quinn Williamson and Claire Bradt did most of the damage at the plate: Williamson scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Bradt scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rylee Williamson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Bloomer now has a losing record at 1-2.
Bloomer will be playing in front of their home fans against Unity at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Croix Falls, they will head out on the road to square off against Prescott at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
