Baseball Recap: StoneBridge Comes Up Short

StoneBridge extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-3. They lost 18-2 to the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators. The Cavaliers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gators from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Greenbrier Christian Academy's part, Clayton Moore made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moore has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Greenbrier Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Tyson Moravec, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Carson Brinkley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, StoneBridge will challenge Portsmouth Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.71 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Broadwater Academy at 4:30 p.m.
