The Oswego East Wolves will head out to square off against the Bolingbrook Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oswego East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Oswego East barely beat Plainfield North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Tigers 12-5 on Wednesday.
Sophia Anderson looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Oswego East let Danielle Stone and Allie Gatz run wild. Stone went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Gatz went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Gatz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Owles, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.
Oswego East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bolingbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Oswego, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly ten runs.
Oswego East's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Bolingbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-22.
Bolingbrook's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oswego East hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. It's a different story for Bolingbrook, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Oswego East's hitters?
Everything went Oswego East's way against Bolingbrook when the teams last played back in April, as Oswego East made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
