Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mountain View

Mountain View extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 22-8. Everything went their way against the Ridgevue Warhawks as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Preston Flournoy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Mountain View got a big performance out of Chris Maiocca, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Braylon Schellhammer was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive contests.

As for Ridgevue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 23rd.

On Ridgevue's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Hirasaki, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Mountain View has already played their next matchup, a 7-2 victory against Eagle on the 14th. Ridgevue does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
