Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Comes Up Short

Faith Christian played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Humble Christian Cougars, falling 72-29. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.

Aiden Maldonado and Jake Ocampo certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Maldonado posted 14 points, while Ocampo earned nine points.

Humble Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pierce Starlard, who shot 46% from the field en route to 13 points along with eight assists and eight boards. Jonathan Blest was another key player, going 9-for-17 to rack up 19 points and six assists.

Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Humble Christian, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Faith Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-28 defeat against School of the Woods on the 14th. As for Humble Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 61-58 victory against True North on the 18th.
