Basketball Recap: White Knoll Comes Up Short

If White Knoll was feeling good fresh off their 58-22 takedown of River Bluff last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The White Knoll Timberwolves were beaten by the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes 69-37 on Tuesday. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Silver Foxes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Valentina Paniagua, who posted 11 points. What's more, Paniagua also posted a 43% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2024.

Dutch Fork's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michaela Fairwell, who had 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Fairwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Jamia Gerald was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

White Knoll's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Dutch Fork, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

White Knoll didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-29 win against Irmo on the 7th. As for Dutch Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-31 victory against Lexington on the 7th.
