Volleyball Recap: Marymount Sailors vs. Mira Costa Mustangs

With a playoff game on the line, Marymount rose to the challenge on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Mira Costa Mustangs out 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Sailors who have now won three matches in a row.

Marymount was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-17, 15-8.

Mira Costa's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Deckert, who had 16 digs, and Audrey Flanagan, who had 23 kills, four digs, and two blocks. Flanagan is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Marymount has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 32-6 record this season. As for Mira Costa, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-7.
