Basketball Recap: Summit Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Nixon Savage and Ashton Hernandez

Summit Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The contest between them and the Ogden Tigers didn't end well, with the Summit Academy Bears falling 60-41. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Summit Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashton Hernandez, who posted 11 points and six boards, and Nixon Savage, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Savage is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played.

Summit Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Ogden, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit Academy will take on Taylorsville in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. Ogden and Granger will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
