Ahoskie Christian are taking a road trip to challenge the New Life Academy Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ahoskie Christian has six straight wins, New Life Academy has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Ahoskie Christian proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past Bethel Assembly Christian Academy 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Ahoskie Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 26-28, 25-18, 25-18, 15-10.

Ahoskie Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryleigh Bradley, who had five aces and one assist. Those five aces gave Bradley a new career-high.
Bradley wasn't the only good servers: Ahoskie Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 19 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, New Life Academy came up short against Bethel Christian on Friday, falling 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-16.
New Life Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ahoskie Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
Ahoskie Christian beat New Life Academy 3-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ahoskie Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
