J.R. Rieg gave up the fewest hits he has since back in May of 2024 on Tuesday. He struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Rieg's strong effort led Trinity over South Fayette and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
