Softball Game Preview: Egyptian Pharaohs vs. Pope County Pirates

Egyptian is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Pope County a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Egyptian Pharaohs will be playing at home against the Pope County Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Egyptian has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Egyptian lost 16-1 to Century last Thursday.

Abrianna Woodson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one triple.

Meanwhile, Pope County didn't have quite enough to beat Carrier Mills-Stonefort on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Pope County's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Egyptian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Egyptian skirted past Pope County 6-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Will the Pharaohs repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
