Mize typically has all the answers at home, but  on Monday Sumrall proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Bulldogs 16-6. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six  runs or more this season.
 Landon Hawkins made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits. What's more,  he posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  firing off two  home runs, five  RBI,  and one  stolen base while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news, Sumrall let  Drew Davis and  Leo Odom run wild. Davis  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances, while  Odom  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  Davis a new career-high in  doubles (two).  Will Raner was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Sumrall has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mize, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 18-8.
 Sumrall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mize, they will square off against Bay Springs at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
