Football Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Estrella Foothills

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Estrella Foothills). They enjoyed a cozy 30-14 victory over the Agua Fria Owls on Friday. The Wolves' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Estrella Foothills had a senior duo take command as Will Davis rushed for 109 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries and Jacob Rawls rushed for 141 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Estrella Foothills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Estrella Foothills' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. Xander Teeter led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself.

When it comes to explaining why Agua Fria lost, don't look at Taj Smith II. Despite the final result, he rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 52 yards and one TD.

Estrella Foothills' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Agua Fria, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Estrella Foothills will head out to face off against Youngker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolves 12, the Roughriders 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Agua Fria, they will head out on the road to square off against Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Owls their first taste of in-conference action this season.
