Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short

If Trinity Christian was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Gila Bend on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell 4-1 to the Holy Family Academy Padres on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Padres: they've now lost three in a row.

Asher Monahan put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Monahan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carsen Matock, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Matock has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Holy Family Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

As of now, neither Trinity Christian nor the Padres have any future games scheduled.
