Basketball Recap: Holyoke Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Holyoke won the last time they faced Merino and things went their way on Friday too. The Holyoke Dragons had just enough and edged out the Merino Rams 49-47. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Holyoke's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reid Sprague, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 21 points and seven boards. Sprague's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sprague, who shot 71% from the field en route to 10 points and three steals.

Holyoke was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They are 11-5 when they've passed the ball that well.

Holyoke's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Merino, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Holyoke has already played their next matchup, a 64-43 loss against Simla on the 22nd. As for Merino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-45 defeat against Sedgwick County on the 26th.
