Softball Recap: Viewmont Vikings vs. Kearns Cougars

Viewmont put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Kearns Cougars as the Viewmont Vikings made off with a 17-10 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Viewmont considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Viewmont let Marlee Moser and Ricki Smith loose on the outfield. Moser went 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Smith got on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Rodabough, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a run.

On Kearns' side, Stephani Serna was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base.

Viewmont's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for Kearns, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
