Basketball Recap: Lake Forest Academy Comes Up Short

Lake Forest Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 26th on Saturday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Deerfield Warriors an easy 52-31 victory. The Caxys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.

The loss snapped Lake Forest Academy's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record. As for Deerfield, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Forest Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Francis W. Parker at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Deerfield will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Maine South at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
