Recap: East Thunderbirds vs. Laramie Plainsmen
On Wednesday, the East Thunderbirds faced the Laramie Plainsmen in a battle between two of the state's top teams. East fell 75-63 to Laramie. That's two games in a row now that East has lost by exactly 12 points.
Laramie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden Smith led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Max Alexander, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
East's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Laramie, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
East won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. South comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Laramie, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
