Volleyball Recap: Trinity Falls Despite Big Games from Charlee Phillips and Avalynn Johnson

The Trinity Bulldogs came up short against the Leadership Academy Falcons on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Leadership Academy scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Trinity's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Avalynn Johnson, who had six digs and three aces, and Charlee Phillips, who had seven digs and two aces. Johnson has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 28 times she's played.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Leadership Academy, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Trinity will head out to face off against Oak Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leadership Academy, they will challenge Ledford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
