Soccer Recap: Monterey's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Monterey put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Monterey County Condors, sneaking past 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dores also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Edmar Coronel and Ethan Bonilla scored both of Monterey's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Monterey pushed their record up to 6-0-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for North Monterey County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monterey will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stevenson at 3:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for North Monterey County, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Greenfield at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
