Basketball Recap: Los Fresnos Takes a Loss

Los Fresnos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 59-42 to the San Benito Greyhounds. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Greyhounds earlier this season, when they won 50-47.

It was another big night for Angelina Reyes, who went 9 of 15 en route to 24 points and three steals for San Benito. The match was Reyes' third in a row with at least ten points. Jade Maya was another key player, putting up eight points along with 12 assists and seven boards.

Los Fresnos' loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for San Benito, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Veterans Memorial the next time they take the court. Los Fresnos will host Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while San Benito will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
