Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Janiah Harris and Ally Barfield Lead Pelham to Victory

Pelham had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They strolled past the Marbury Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 48-32. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 58-50 loss.

Pelham was led to victory by Ally Barfield and Janiah Harris. Barfield posted 16 points, while Harris went 5 for 12 en route to 10 points and five boards. That's the most points Barfield has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shea Gallagher, who put up two points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Marbury still got an impressive performance from Nunu Jernigan, who earned 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Jernigan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Elizabeth Woodfin was another key player, putting up five points and seven boards.

Pelham pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Marbury, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.

As of now, neither Pelham nor Marbury have any future games scheduled.
