Baseball Recap: Mission Heights Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against Canyon State Academy last Tuesday, Mission Heights Prep came back down to earth. The Phantoms fell just short of the Our Lady of Sorrows Cavaliers by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Phantoms were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Mission Heights Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Vargas, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jacob Kemp was another, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The defeat snapped Mission Heights Prep's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3-1 record. As for Our Lady of Sorrows, the win got them back to even at 1-1-1.

Coming up, Mission Heights Prep will challenge Imagine Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Our Lady of Sorrows, they will take on Heritage Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
