Last Friday, Nanih Waiya put the finishing touches on their 9th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Ethel as the team secured a 40-0 victory. Junior Shia Moore was the offensive standout of the match for Nanih Waiya, as he rushed for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. This marked the 3rd match in which Moore has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Smithville brought a six-game winning streak into their matchup against Tupelo Christian Prep last Friday; they left with a seven-game streak. Smithville secured a 33-27 W over Tupelo Christian Prep. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (27) and coasted on those for the win.
Their wins bumped Nanih Waiya to 9-1 and Smithville to 8-2. In Smithville's win, junior Jabril Smith rushed for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns and junior Octavion Miller rushed for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see if Nanih Waiya have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
