Preview: Polytech vs. Dover
On Friday Dover will take on Polytech at 7:00 PM. Dover know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Polytech like a good challenge.
Dover faced Smyrna in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dover were able to grind out a solid victory over Smyrna last Friday, winning 46-38. Among those leading the charge for Dover was junior Javon Peace, who rushed for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns. This marked the 3rd match in which Peace has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Polytech have been struggling to pick up a win, with their matchup against Sussex Central making it five winless games in a row. Polytech were dealt a punishing 0-42 loss at the hands of Sussex Central. Polytech were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-28.
Dover simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Polytech 42-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dover since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
