Volleyball Recap: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears
With a playoff game on the line, Palo Alto rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Menlo-Atherton Bears out 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Palo Alto took Menlo-Atherton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-13, 26-24, 21-25, 16-14.
Despite the loss, Menlo-Atherton still got an impressive performance from Kiela King, who had 25 digs and two aces.
Palo Alto has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 30-4 record this season. As for Menlo-Atherton, they moved to 23-8 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
