Basketball Recap: Tennessee Takes a Loss

Tennessee lost against David Crockett back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tennessee Vikings had to suffer through a 68-33 loss at the hands of the David Crockett Pioneers. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.

Despite the defeat, Tennessee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addie Wilhoit posted ten points. What's more, Wilhoit also racked up four boards, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Jasmine Jones was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

It was another big night for Brylee Tullock, who went 10 for 14 en route to 23 points for David Crockett. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Story, who had eight points in addition to 11 boards and four blocks.

Tennessee has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for David Crockett, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tennessee has already played their next game (against Morristown-Hamblen East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. David Crockett will square off against Unicoi County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in David Crockett's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
