Basketball Preview: Perry Panthers vs. Medina Battling Bees
Perry has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Medina Battling Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Perry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Perry had to settle for a 44-42 defeat against the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Perry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 22nd).
Despite their loss, Perry saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luke Wolf, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Nico Martelli, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, even though Mentor scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Medina still came out on top. Medina walked away with a 73-62 victory over the Cardinals.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Medina, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
