Baseball Recap: Sun Valley Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Sun Valley's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Porter Ridge Pirates on Monday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sun Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton McGinniss, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was McGinniss' first of the season.

Sun Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Porter Ridge, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 5-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Sun Valley by a score of 4-0 on Tuesday.
