Baseball Game Preview: Demopolis Tigers vs. Sipsey Valley Bears

The Demopolis Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Sipsey Valley Bears at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Demopolis is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Demopolis challenged Jemison on Thursday. The Tigers walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Panthers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sipsey Valley). They put the hurt on Wenonah with a sharp 20-5 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Demopolis' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Sipsey Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-19.

Everything went Demopolis' way against Sipsey Valley when the teams last played back in February, as Demopolis made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
