Basketball Game Preview: North Davidson Black Knights vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies

The North Davidson Black Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Davidson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

North Davidson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Montgomery Central 80-50. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Black Knights as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ryan Forrest went supernova for North Davidson, going 7 for 14 en route to 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Forrest a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Davis, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Forrest wasn't the only one working in the assists department: North Davidson was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Oak Grove has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-70 heartbreaker at the hands of Ledford. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly two points.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for North Davidson, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

North Davidson came up short against Oak Grove in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 73-60. Can North Davidson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
