Kenowa Hills never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cedar Springs on Monday. They put the hurt on the Red Hawks with a sharp 16-6 win. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Red Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Andrew Lake made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lake was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chastyn Cole, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Cole is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Brennan Gustinis, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Kenowa Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar Springs struck out seven times.

Kenowa Hills now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Cedar Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Kenowa Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Hawks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
