Softball Recap: Tri-Central's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Tri-Central came into Thursday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Sheridan Blackhawks by a score of 10-7 on Thursday. That looming 10-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.

Claire Conrad was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Mackey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Tri-Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Tri-Central's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-8. As for Sheridan, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Central will host Wes-Del at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sheridan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
