Soccer Game Preview: Coalinga vs. Taft

The Coalinga Horned Toads and the Taft Wildcats will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Coalinga is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Coalinga was able to grind out a solid win over Farmersville, taking the game 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Horned Toads.

They hit Farmersville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angel Jimenez, Ernesto Villanueva Rodriguez, Alexis Castro, and Luis Molina Navarro.

Meanwhile, Taft kept a clean sheet against North on Friday. They came out on top against the Stars by a score of 2-0.

Coalinga's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three contests. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
