Coconino is 8-2 against Flagstaff since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Coconino and Bradshaw Mountain had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers fell 28-21 to the Bears on Friday. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Flagstaff, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 win over Mingus on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since October 4, 2024.

Flagstaff's win came from a few key players Coconino will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Teyan Clerry, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Flagstaff didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Mingus to a completion percentage of just 29.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Clerry and Cullen Callander, who each logged two passes deflected. Flagstaff wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 62.5%.

Flagstaff's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Coconino, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Coconino took their victory against Flagstaff in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 49-26 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
