Baseball Recap: Branson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sonoma Academy on Wednesday, Branson came back down to earth. The Bulls lost 6-0 to the San Marin Mustangs on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in February.

Branson got a good showing from Grayson Roberts, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Roberts has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Branson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mo Jacoby, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Jacoby has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Branson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for San Marin, their record now sits at 11-7.

Branson has already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Novato on the 22nd. As for San Marin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-2 victory against Terra Linda on the 22nd.
