Volleyball Recap: Barnesville Comes Up Short

Barnesville was the 3-2 winner over East Grand Forks when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Wave on Monday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-11, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Leading East Grand Forks to victory were Kelsey Spilde and Emma Pieper. Spilde had 15 digs and two aces, while Pieper had 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Pieper a new career-high. Tatem Votava also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Barnesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Grand Forks, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Barnesville will square off against Hawley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Grand Forks, they will face off against Red Lake County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
