Baseball Recap: Franklin Pierce Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

Franklin Pierce won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Franklin Pierce Cardinals put the hurt on the Lincoln Abes with a sharp 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Elijah Sledge made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Larson, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Dustin Wallace was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Franklin Pierce's record now sits at 2-0. As for Lincoln, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Franklin Pierce will head out to challenge East Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln, they will welcome Peninsula at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The match will give Peninsula their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
