Football Game Preview: Yosemite Badgers vs. Firebaugh Eagles + Official Tickets

The Yosemite Badgers will head out on the road to square off against the Firebaugh Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Yosemite's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Minarets on Friday. They were beaten by the Mustangs 46-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Badgers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Yosemite didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Arthur Cachu and Casey McIntosh.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Firebaugh, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over Mendota on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Firebaugh's win came from a few key players Yosemite will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leonardo Perez, who threw for 170 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 110 yards on only ten carries. Those 170 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Dominic Barajas was in the mix too, providing Firebaugh with three scores.

Firebaugh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Firebaugh is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Yosemite, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for Yosemite against Firebaugh when the teams last played back in November of 2019, as the squad secured a 54-14 victory. In that game, the Badgers amassed a halftime lead of 40-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
