Basketball Recap: Davenport Central Takes a Loss

Davenport Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 58-11 loss at the hands of the Bettendorf Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 45th).

Davenport Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Bettendorf, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davenport Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pleasant Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Davenport Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bettendorf, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Bettendorf's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Clinton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
