Basketball Recap: Bemidji Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Bemidji, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 71-63 win over the Park Rapids Panthers on Tuesday. Given the Lumberjacks' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Panthers are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Park Rapids lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ryan Carroll, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Carroll is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Parker Hunter was another key player, going 8-for-12 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Bemidji's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Park Rapids, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Bemidji has already played their next matchup, a 70-62 win against Grand Rapids on the 13th. As for Park Rapids, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-62 victory against Breckenridge on the 13th.
